Secondary Curriculum:

At Wokingham Campus we combine a deep understanding of our students’ needs with high-quality Enquiry Based teaching and learning, and a broad and balanced curriculum which is underpinned by 21st Century Learning Skills.

Our Secondary Phase Curriculum is made up of four key areas:

Our Secondary Core curriculum is based on our students individual abilities and potential, we aim to deliver our range of subjects at National Curriculum level. Our Secondary School students engage in a course of study that leads to a variety of opportunities for external qualifications, including Entry Levels, Edexcel Awards Functional Skills, Arts Award, BTEC, GCSEs and IGCSEs.

Our Secondary Vocational curriculum enables students to acquire knowledge and skills related to a specific trade, occupation or vocation. At KS3, we deliver the Arts Award Framework. Employability skills are embedded in our Arts Award curriculum, students are provided with opportunities to learn about enterprise through tangible, real life examples of projects they have planned, led and evaluated.

Once students reach KS4, they can choose to learn about specific trades, which are closely monitored through our external providers.

Primary3Our Personal Development curriculum centres around developing each students’ character to gain understanding, knowledge and skills to lead healthy, independent lives thus becoming informed active and responsible citizens.

Primary4Our Support curriculum is guided and planned by our Multidisciplinary Team (Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and our Specific Learning Difficulty, Regulation support and Welfare Teams). Support is delivered at Universal, Targeted and Specialist levels, depending on the needs of individual students.
