Staff and regular volunteers are appointed in line with our selection and recruitment policy which includes checks on suitability, including Disclosure and Barring Service checks. We expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment and understand their responsibilities in keeping our pupils safe.
· Protecting students from maltreatment
· Preventing impairment to children’s health or development
· Ensuring students are growing up with the provision of safe and effective care
· Taking action to enable all pupils to have the best outcomes
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding Policy. Policies can be viewed on our website in the practical information section or by clicking on the link below.
If there are concerns about a child’s welfare it may be necessary for us to share information and work in partnership with other agencies. Any such concerns will always be discussed with parents/carers unless we have reason to believe this would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism
‘Dear Parents/Carers, I know some of you have felt isolated recently. I hope the “Family Information Session” allowed you to find comfort and support from others that are facing the same challenges as you.’
Gary Regan Director of Schools.
