Work Experience:

Our mission is to ensure that all our students gain purposeful and lasting employment, one way of achieving this is to high light the importance of Work Experience and the benefits has on our students.

Students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience through short and long term placements linked to their future career aspirations. This allows them to develop key skills that are needed for employment and is supported within lessons highlighting such transferable skills as problem solving, communication and leadership.

It also gives students the opportunity to identify the areas of employment in which they would like to go into after Post 16 with a clearer understanding of what is required for that career choice.

In the past the students have successfully had placements at:

Road Farm Country Ways -

Students experience the practical nature of a working farm.

Great Missenden Abbey -

Students have had the opportunity to access experience the catering side of the organization.

Great Missenden Walled Garden – an off shoot of the above.

National Trust – Hughenden Manor

Placements have been successful in two areas of the charity at this local location: Back Office Administration including data management and input. General gardening duties working with the established group of volunteers.

John Lewis – High Wycombe Department store/catering department/shop and staff canteen duties including front of house and preparation of food and refreshments.

If you would like to support the careers of the students and are able to offer a work placement, then please contact us.
